MediWest Care Employment Specialists have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Person in Charge to join one of Irelands leading Nursing Home providers in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

In Conjunction with the Person in Charge (AIP) you will coordinate the daily activities of the nursing home and support in the management of staff. You will have a passion for elderly care, maintaining high standards and enriching the lives of elderly residents.

About the role

  • Act as the PIC in the absence of the Person in Charge
  • Deliver high quality care to residents ensuring all health regulations are maintained
  • Support the PIC in overseeing the organisation, management, and operations of the Nursing Home
  • Provide leadership and clinical support to staff under your direction ensuring they adhere to standards and feel supported
  • Assist, encourage and champion a residential environment where residents feel fulfilled and valued
  • Safeguarding vulnerable residents in accordance with legislation and organisational procedures
  • Ensuring adequate staffing levels to ensure high quality care in accordance with the high standards of the nursing home
  • Availability for day, night, and weekend shifts as needed

Education & Qualifications:

  • Third Level Degree in Nursing
  • Registered with An Bord Altranais with an active PIN
  • certification in areas such as infection control, manual handling, medication management, etc.
  • Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent (or willingness to undergo training)
  • Post-registration qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care is desirable

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of post-registration nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Nursing Home setting
  • Desirable: Minimum 1 year of management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team effectively
  • Clinical competence and dedication to delivering exceptional care to older individuals
